Tibetan Thangka Deity Pendant — Hand-Painted Tsa-Tsa Amulet, Wealth & Protection Figures
These hand-painted tsa-tsa pendants carry the same tradition as Tibetan shrine objects — small clay tablets bearing deity images, painted by hand, worn as personal amulets. The painting is applied directly on the surface, not printed under resin, which is why each piece has visible brushwork and subtle variation.
What a Tsa-Tsa Is
Tsa-tsas are devotional objects made from clay or resin, pressed into molds and then painted or gilded. The tradition goes back over a thousand years in Tibet, where they were placed in shrines, rock crevices, and stupas as offerings. The image on each pendant is a full iconographic representation — the colors, hand positions, and attributes each carry specific meaning in established tradition.
The Figures in This Set
This set spans a wider range than standard guardian deity pendants. Most are Tibetan Buddhist figures — Avalokitesvara, Green Tara, Manjushri, Vairocana. It also includes Yellow Jambhala, the wealth deity long associated with abundance; Zakiram, a Tibetan protector goddess whose Lhasa shrine draws pilgrims seeking help with business and finances; Wuye, a dragon king figure venerated in both Tibetan and Chinese folk traditions; and the fox spirit figure from Chinese folk belief. The range is intentional — some buyers come for their birth year guardian, others for a specific intention.
Care
Keep away from water and prolonged moisture. The painted surface can be damaged by perfume or oils — avoid direct contact. Wipe gently with a dry soft cloth if needed.
