Product Guidance & Care

How do I choose the right crystal or Feng Shui item for me?

A few approaches:

• By intention: think about what you want to invite — protection, clarity, abundance, love, or healing

• By intuition: notice which pieces draw your attention when browsing

• By tradition: read our product descriptions for the Tibetan Buddhist or Feng Shui meaning behind each piece

Still unsure? Contact us at Support@buddhatibet.com for personalised suggestions.

Which hand should I wear my bracelet on?

In Tibetan Buddhist and Feng Shui tradition, the left hand receives energy inward, and the right hand projects energy outward:

• Left hand: for protection, healing, or attracting abundance

• Right hand: for releasing or giving energy

Can I wear multiple bracelets on the same hand?

Yes. Layering bracelets is a common practice and there is no spiritual rule against it. Many people combine bracelets with complementary intentions. Follow your instincts and what feels good to you.

How should I care for my jewelry?

To keep your pieces looking their best:

• Avoid exposure to water, perfume, lotions, and harsh chemicals

• Remove jewelry before swimming, bathing, or exercising

• Store pieces separately in a soft pouch or box to prevent scratching

• Wipe metal pieces gently with a soft dry cloth to restore shine

Avoid prolonged sunlight exposure — it can fade some stones over time

How do I hang and care for a Thangka painting?

To hang and care for your Thangka:

• Hang in a clean, respectful space at eye level or slightly above — such as an altar or meditation corner

• Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade the pigments over time

• Keep away from high humidity and moisture

• Handle the fabric border with care; avoid touching the painted surface with bare hands

• To clean, gently dust with a very soft, dry brush — do not use water or cleaning products

Traditionally, a Thangka is treated with reverence — it is considered respectful not to place it on the floor or in a bathroom.

Tibetan Culture & Product Meaning

I am not Buddhist. Can I still wear or use these products?

Absolutely. Many of our customers do not follow Buddhism but are drawn to Tibetan products for their beauty, craftsmanship, symbolism, or the positive energies they represent. There are no requirements or beliefs you need to hold to enjoy these pieces.

What does Om Mani Padme Hum (ༀ མཎི པདྨེ ཧཱུྃ) mean?

Om Mani Padme Hum is the mantra of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig), the bodhisattva of compassion. Each of the six syllables corresponds to a realm of existence and carries the power to purify suffering. The mantra is roughly translated as 'the jewel is in the lotus' and is a prayer for compassion, wisdom, and liberation. It is inscribed on prayer wheels, prayer flags, mani stones, and many of our jewelry pieces.

What is the significance of the Tibetan prayer wheel, and how do I use it?

A prayer wheel is a cylindrical wheel filled with mantras — most commonly Om Mani Padme Hum. Spinning it clockwise is said to have the same spiritual merit as reciting the mantras within. It is a form of active meditation and a way of generating compassion and positive karma. Spin the wheel gently in a clockwise direction while holding a calm and focused mind.

What is the difference between Tibetan Buddhist items and general Buddhist items?

Tibetan Buddhism (Vajrayana) incorporates a rich tradition of ritual objects and sacred art not found in other Buddhist traditions — including prayer wheels, Thangka paintings, Dzi beads, Dorje, singing bowls, and specific deity imagery such as Green Tara or Mahakala. Our collection focuses specifically on authentic Tibetan pieces sourced from Tibet and the Himalayan region.
