Multi-Wood 108-Bead Mala Bracelet — Natural Wood Prayer Beads for Daily Wear & Meditation
Malas have been strung to 108 beads across Buddhist, Hindu, and Yogic practice for centuries. The count gives a complete cycle for mantra recitation — one bead per repetition. What changes between these bracelets is the wood. Each type carries its own grain, color, density, and character.
The Wood Changes Everything
This bracelet comes in over a dozen wood types. Ebony runs dark and close-grained, with almost no visible texture. Chicken-wing wood has a dramatic figured grain that shifts in the light. Green sandalwood carries a faint natural scent. Cliff cypress is prized in Chinese collector culture for its slow growth and tight ring structure. Jujube wood and golden sandalwood run warmer — reddish-brown tones that deepen with handling.
Practitioners who bead-count during meditation often prefer denser woods — they move through the fingers with more resistance, which helps some people keep pace. Others choose by color or grain alone.
Bead Size
The 6mm beads sit lighter on the wrist and wrap closer. The 8mm beads have more presence and are easier to distinguish by touch during practice. Both sizes string the full 108 count.
Care
Keep away from prolonged water exposure and perfume. Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Natural woods may deepen in color with regular handling — this is normal.
