How to Measure Your Wrist
- 1 Wrap a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper around your wrist, just below the wrist bone where you would normally wear a bracelet.
- 2 Mark the point where the tape or paper overlaps. Make sure it's snug but not tight — you should be able to fit one finger underneath.
- 3 If using paper, lay it flat and measure the length with a ruler. This is your wrist circumference.
- 4 Match your measurement to the size chart above. For a looser fit, add 0.5 – 1 cm to your wrist measurement.

How to Choose Your Ring Size
- If your finger circumference is around 2.17" (55 mm), we recommend selecting a ring with an inner diameter of 0.67" (17 mm).
- If your circumference is 2.20–2.24" (56–57 mm), choose a diameter of 0.71" (18 mm).
- For the most accurate measurement, visit a local jeweler to have your ring size professionally measured.
- If your knuckle is noticeably wider than the base of your finger, measure at the widest point of your knuckle. This ensures the ring can slide over comfortably while still fitting well when worn.
Measure your finger at the end of the day when fingers are at their largest. Avoid measuring when your hands are cold or swollen. If you're between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Pterocarpus santalinus — Indian red sandalwood — is one of the most regulated and coveted hardwoods in South Asia. It is not the same as fragrant sandalwood; the scent is lighter, earthier. What makes it remarkable is the density: the wood sinks in water, which is unusual for most hardwoods, and the tight grain polishes to a deep wine-red that shifts toward mahogany as it ages. The Chinese name 小叶紫檀 (small-leaf purple sandalwood) describes the small leaf variety grown in the Andhra Pradesh region of India, considered the finest grade.
Why Collectors Seek Aged Stock
Indian red sandalwood has been subject to export restrictions in India for decades. Aged stock — material that was imported and seasoned years ago — tends to be more stable and better seasoned than fresh-cut wood. Freshly cut wood can develop fine cracks as it dries. Aged material has already gone through that process. The 108-bead strands here are cut from seasoned stock, which is reflected in the price difference between small (6mm) and large (10mm) beads. More wood, more age, more material.
Beads That Change
New 小叶紫檀 beads have a matte, slightly chalky surface — the natural oils haven't been brought up yet. Over weeks of daily handling, the surface begins to shift. Oils from your hands work into the grain. The color deepens from a bright red to a dark, rich burgundy. Serious collectors call this process 盘玩 — literally "handling to develop" — and consider the finished patina more valuable than the original surface. The 6mm beads show this change quickly; the 10mm beads, with more surface area, take longer but the result is more striking.
Care
Avoid water, perfume, and direct sunlight for extended periods. The best care is regular handling — the oils from clean, dry hands are the ideal conditioner for this wood. Wipe occasionally with a soft dry cloth.
