How to Measure Your Wrist

  1. 1 Wrap a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper around your wrist, just below the wrist bone where you would normally wear a bracelet.
  2. 2 Mark the point where the tape or paper overlaps. Make sure it's snug but not tight — you should be able to fit one finger underneath.
  3. 3 If using paper, lay it flat and measure the length with a ruler. This is your wrist circumference.
  4. 4 Match your measurement to the size chart above. For a looser fit, add 0.5 – 1 cm to your wrist measurement.

Use a piece of string or strip of paper. Wrap it around your wrist, mark the overlap, then measure the length against a ruler.

How to Choose Your Ring Size

  • If your finger circumference is around 2.17" (55 mm), we recommend selecting a ring with an inner diameter of 0.67" (17 mm).
  • If your circumference is 2.20–2.24" (56–57 mm), choose a diameter of 0.71" (18 mm).
  • For the most accurate measurement, visit a local jeweler to have your ring size professionally measured.
  • If your knuckle is noticeably wider than the base of your finger, measure at the widest point of your knuckle. This ensures the ring can slide over comfortably while still fitting well when worn.
Tips for Accurate Measurement

Measure your finger at the end of the day when fingers are at their largest. Avoid measuring when your hands are cold or swollen. If you're between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Pterocarpus santalinus — Indian red sandalwood — is one of the most regulated and coveted hardwoods in South Asia. It is not the same as fragrant sandalwood; the scent is lighter, earthier. What makes it remarkable is the density: the wood sinks in water, and the tight grain polishes to a deep wine-red that shifts toward mahogany as it ages. The Chinese name 小叶紫檀 describes the small-leaf variety from the Andhra Pradesh region, considered the finest grade.

Why Aged Stock Matters

Indian red sandalwood has been subject to export restrictions in India for decades. Aged stock — material imported and seasoned years ago — is more stable than fresh-cut wood, which can develop fine cracks as it dries. The 108-bead strands here are cut from seasoned stock. The 108-bead count is the traditional mala length across Buddhist and Hindu practice.

Beads That Change Over Time

New beads have a matte, slightly chalky surface. Over weeks of daily handling, the oils from your hands work into the grain. The color deepens from bright red to dark burgundy. Practitioners call this process 盘玩 — handling to develop — and consider the finished patina more valuable than the original surface. The smaller beads show this change quickly; larger beads take longer but the result is more striking.

Care

Avoid water, perfume, and extended direct sunlight. The best care is regular handling — oils from clean, dry hands are the ideal conditioner. Wipe occasionally with a soft dry cloth.
