Purple Goldstone Cinnabar Mantra Bracelet — Om Mani Padme Hum Woven Red Rope
The six-syllable mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is among the most recited phrases in Tibetan Buddhism. Monks carve it into stone. Pilgrims spin it on prayer wheels. This bracelet carries the full mantra engraved on barrel beads, strung on a red cord with cinnabar resin accents and gold-tone spacers.
Two Materials, One Reason Each
Purple goldstone is a man-made glass, developed in Venice sometime in the 17th century. Glassmakers added copper crystals to a molten base and got something that sparkles like a night sky. It has no natural origin — but it has a real history, and the deep violet with metallic flash is distinct in a way plain stone rarely is. Cinnabar is a mercury sulfide mineral, deep red, historically used across China as a pigment and carving material. The red color in this bracelet comes from cinnabar resin, which keeps the warmth of the original material without the weight.
The Red Cord
Red rope bracelets predate Buddhism in China by centuries. The cord was tied on a child's wrist to ward off illness, or given between people as a bond. In Tibetan practice, monks bless the cord before it leaves their hands. The adjustable knot style holds and adjusts to fit different wrists without a metal clasp getting in the way.
Care
Wipe beads with a soft dry cloth. Avoid prolonged water exposure and keep away from perfume. The red cord will darken gradually with wear — that is normal. Remove before swimming.
