Golden Silk Sandalwood Mala Bracelet — Natural Wood Beads with Carved Blessing Pendant
Golden Silk Sandalwood has been carved into mala beads for centuries. The wood does not need to be dressed up — each bead shows its own grain pattern, parallel lines of amber and deep brown that shift in the light. Worn daily, it develops a patina no factory finish can replicate.
What Makes Golden Silk Sandalwood Different
Most wood beads sold today are dyed or made from composite materials. Golden Silk Sandalwood is neither. The color is in the wood itself — a natural amber-gold with tight, silky grain lines. The Chinese name, 金丝檀, translates to "golden silk rosewood." The wood is dense and close-grained, giving it satisfying weight. Over months of contact with skin, the surface takes on a warm glow — a process called coaxing (盘玩) in Chinese collecting tradition.
The Carved Pendant and Gourd Accents
The square pendant is carved from the same wood and inscribed with Chinese blessing characters traditional to mala sets. It serves as the 109th counter bead. Two small gourd-shaped pieces (葫芦) hang from the tassel cord — a form long associated in Chinese folk tradition with good health and positive energy.
Care
Wipe with a dry soft cloth. Keep away from perfume, lotions, and prolonged water exposure. The natural grain and color will deepen gradually with regular wear — this is expected, not damage.
