Black Obsidian&Tourmaline Bagua Yin Yang Pendant — Feng Shui Protection
The bagua has been carved, painted, and worn in China for over four thousand years. This pendant cuts it in black obsidian — opaque, volcanic, heavy in the hand. The yin-yang sits at the center. The eight trigrams ring it on all sides. It is not subtle, and it is not meant to be.
What the Yin-Yang and Bagua Represent
The yin-yang does not mean good and evil. The tradition holds that it describes how all forces in nature come paired — dark and light, stillness and motion, contraction and expansion. Neither side wins. Each contains a seed of the other. Around it, the bagua — eight trigrams, each a stack of three solid or broken lines mapping to a force in the natural world: Heaven, Earth, Fire, Water, Thunder, Wind, Mountain, Lake. Together they are said to account for every condition a person might face.
Why the Octagon
Most protective amulets in Chinese tradition are circular or square. The octagon holds the middle position — not the completeness of the circle, not the fixed stability of the square, but something that moves between them. Eight corners that catch force from every angle. Eight edges that redirect rather than absorb. The form itself is part of the protection.
Care
Obsidian is volcanic glass — it chips under sharp impact, so avoid dropping on hard surfaces. Keep away from perfume and prolonged moisture. Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
